Currently I’m reading Some Girls: My Life in a Harem by Jillian Lauren. Jillian is an adopted Jewish alternative tattooed rocker type chick. She dabbled in stripping and escort services and seems to have started out life with a similar view many adopted children have, doing whatever it takes to fend for themselves. While I was hoping it would be more about the sleazy sex and raunchy exotic lifestyle she had while living in a harem, the book is more about her, her life, her family and how she got to this place at all. She tries to tell the story as a detached young woman taking risks and not really feeling like settling down or holding much responsibility while still trying to come off as a sincerely genuine person.
If this sounds interesting to you I suggest you check it out. While it’s not as graphic as I would have hoped she does have a child and husband now to protect. The story was surely told with them in mind.
